Why do we cry?
Why do tears seem to stream from our eyes at inconvenient times
Why do we cry?
Why do tears seem to be the answer to all problems
Why do we cry?
We cry out of fear
Why do we cry?
We cry for the love of the lost
Why do we cry?
We cry at the stressed times in our lives that we must proceed through
Why do we cry?
We cry for no logical reason
Why do we cry?
We cry to attempt at making ourselves feel better
Why do I cry?
I cry because I can
Just the mere thought of destroying someone’s day with a few words can almost be unbearable. So you come to the conclusion to confront them some other time. But, that time never seems to come, because you avoid the obvious and procrastinate until the opportunity is lost. Thus keeping the thoughts tearing up inside you.
I have a tendency to procrastinate with the majority of things that I do. No matter what, I would prefer to perform the task in another 5 minutes. Sooner than you know it, half an hour has gone by. So my “oh so genius” advice would be to get on with your day and get your task out of the way. Because life is too short to dwell on the frivolous dilemmas we encounter in life.
I’m sure the majority of people out in the world have experienced being a teenager, (unless you’re a newborn.) Popularity overwhelms your morals, homework takes up your time and you feel like a lost soul in a pool of life. You tend to come across people that are your ideal friend and some that couldn’t be more self absorbed. Reasons that lead for me to hover around those particular types of people are reasons that I have never found a thorough answer to. Or a more accurate question would be why did I tolerate their tormenting and destructive ways for so long?
Intimidation. Fear. That is all I have ever come to.
‘No one can make you feel inferior without your consent’ quotes Eleanor Roosevelt.
Becoming friends with who I judged as a sweet person turned out to be the biggest mistake so far in my very short lived life. We were both inseparable until about a term later I was replaced by someone I forgave too soon. I was alone. No one wanted to know me or of me. I was the secluded girl of my class. For so long I endured the comments that was thrown at me, I never complained. I was completley oblivious as to what truley happened between us. I eventually confronted the cause of my anguish.
Not much good came from that conversation. She was like everyone else who had shut me down. But worse. Because she was the reason of my confusion. She never, wanted to know me or of me.
As most can imagine I was distraught. Heartbroken. Crushed. I certainly hadn’t experienced an event like this.
So I moved on after a long period of time. Just dwelling in my thoughts, thinking what could I have done to have made the outcome different. The comments slowly decreased but not by much. It’s like they get their kicks out of ruining someone’s day. It’s amazing how just one word can destroy a happy moment. Not too long after the third term passed the reason for my distress confronted me and asked for peace between us. The illogical thing I did was that I became friends with her again, including my replacement. It wasn’t long after that I had a repeat of what had just happened to me.
I lost a chunk of 2 years out of my life. Wasted on trying to please others and tolerating cruel and barbaric remarks. If I could give my younger self some advice from the knowledge I have now. It would be to stand strong and to not be a door mat. Otherwise you’ll get walked all over, you deserve much better than that. I didn’t say what I needed to, but I should have.
